Road dept. can fix snow-removal damage

DEAR EDITOR: As the chairman of the board of trustees of Howland Township, I felt a need to respond to a Sound Off item printed in the newspaper on April 12 pertaining to damaged yards in Howland Township and how they were not getting repaired. Any person that has had serious yard damage due to snow removal can contact the township office and the road department will be more than happy to evaluate and repair the damage. Ohio should return to executions

DEAR EDITOR: Have you heard the news? The state of Ohio has not carried out an execution since 2018, partly because of a judicial system mired in “endless” appeals, and a “lack” of so-called lethal injection drugs being caused by pharmaceutical companies refusing to deliver/supply execution drugs to state prison officials. Liberal Ohio lawmakers keep attempting to abolish the death penalty in this state. I bet none of them has lost a family member to heinous acts of violence at the hands of another. DEAR EDITOR: Ever since Dan Polivka first ran for elected office, he has championed for the citizens he was elected to represent. As a ward councilman and councilman-at-large Dan worked hard to make our city better for our youth. He worked to improve our parks, improve youth organizations and fund projects that were in the best interest of all children. Flock cameras aided Niles police officers

DEAR EDITOR: Sometimes it’s hard to see the positives when a negative situation arises in the news; however, I couldn’t help but reflect upon how proud I was of “Our City” and the work done by the Niles Police Department during the recent and unfortunate break-ins of vehicles parked at the Niles Wellness Center. Within days, the Niles PD (working along with other departments) were able to track and find the suspects. DEAR EDITOR: The Atlantic recently reported that Bernie Moreno (your senator, not mine) referred to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D), a Jew, as “Der Fuhrer.” The German word for “leader,” fuhrer was also the title used by the Nazi fascist Adolph Hitler. Now, Schumer is the Democratic “leader” of the U. S. Rulli is shirking his responsibilities

DEAR EDITOR: I suppose it’s somewhat fair for your editorial to point out that Rep. Rulli took the bait by replying to an invite to appear to the Walz event in Youngstown. His reply was pathetic indeed. But there is more to it than that. Those of us who want him to hold a town hall meeting with constituents are seeking to understand something more than GOP actions which are creating economic havoc, destroying savings or treating U.S. citizens with deportation actions.
