DEAR EDITOR: The role of being a full-time senator or congressman began around 1970 [1]. Since COVID, many businesses have transitioned to remote operations and politicians have adopted proxy voting [2]. So, why must our politicians remain in Washington, D.C.? There’s a solution to our divided and misguided government: Build a grand hotel with accommodations for all of Congress during the few weeks they need to be in D.C. DEAR EDITOR: Everyone ought to know by now how evil Trump and Republicans have become. Due process applies to everyone, citizen or not. People who are immigrants here do not have the rights to certain things like Social Security or voting. They do have the rights, though, of many things in the Constitution like free speech and due process. DEAR EDITOR: The Ohio Legislature in 2021 approved a bipartisan school funding measure called the Fair School Funding Plan. The base of it was to account for actual costs to educate a student in a transparent manner. The school funding system prior to this, by most people’s standards, was broken.
