GO RED: The tricounty annual Go Red for Women Experience, ushered in by the American Heart Association to honor survivors, celebrate advancements in heart health and chart a new course toward a world free of cardiovascular disease, is being held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Waypoint 4180, 4180 Westford Place, Canfield.

TCMHRB SURVEY: The Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board is asking community members to provide their perspective on addiction through a survey found on its website, www.TrumbullMHRB.org. The survey, to gain understanding about addiction, is part of a partnership between the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, the ASAP Coalition and Addiction Policy Forum. The groups are looking to gain a better understanding of the attitudes and knowledge people have about addiction as part of a nationwide Anti-Stigma Initiative.
SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: The Brain Injury Family Education and Survivors Support Group will meet 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 18 in the Boardroom of Steward Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland. The support group is free and available to all survivors and family members and / or caregivers. The support group offers socialization and fundamental information and education about brain injury and common challenges survivors and families are confronted with.

WELLNESS ON WHEELS: Warren City Health District Wellness on Wheels will provide free health screenings and education from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Warren Family Mission, 155 Todd Ave. NW, Warren, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Eastwood Mall at entrance to Target, 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles.

SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS: The Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter makes Alzheimer's caregiver support groups available for free to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one affected by the disease or another form of dementia.

ADDICTION HELP MEETINGS: SMART Recovery's four-point program is the organization's flagship secular program serving those with addictive behavior, including both substance and activity / process addictions. Trained volunteer facilitators lead mutual support group discussions 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday on topics such as building and maintaining motivation, coping with urges and cravings, managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and living a balanced life.
Related tools consistent with evidence-based motivational and cognitive behavioral theories are also offered and discussed.
