Government entities should be accountable

DEAR EDITOR: Accountability with our tax dollars is long overdue. Thankfully, we now have a president that is finally taking action to right size our government by downsizing the workforce, eliminating unnecessary agencies and removing duplicate personnel. The Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE is now performing the actions that all U.S. Citizens that pay taxes should want and encourage. It’s always a painful process to lay people off. So, the Cleveland Clinic is expanding its footprint in this area. Superficially, this seems like welcomed news. However, in reality, there have already been concerns. Getting a prescription renewed or requesting orders for blood work from one of these offices has been impossible because phones are not being answered. Is this the status of this segment of the medical community now? If so, the area is in trouble. H5N1 is dangerous to our pet cats

DEAR EDITOR: Please report on H5N1 and how incredibly deadly it is to cats? There’s also possibly been evidence of it being able to pass from cats to humans. Even if not, though, every infection of a mammal raises the risks of it mutating to more easily infect other mammals. We currently have a huge number of Canadian geese around and passing through and the infection can be “silent” in wild bird populations. DEAR EDITOR: PBS’s weekly gabfest, Washington Week, spewed the ills of President Trump’s dismantling of the USAID agency. With a budget of $40 billion per year, USAID allotted $8 million to the liberal news group, Politico. One of the panelists, Eugene Daniels, is a contributor from Politico. The host and Eugene were mum, never saying a word disclosing Politico’s partnership with USAID, Their cancerous chatter focused on Trump denying children food and vaccinations.
