Return traffic light to dangerous intersection DEAR EDITOR: On Tuesday, Sept. 1, there was a personal-injury accident involving two vehicles at the intersection of Washington Street and North Park Avenue in Warren. This intersection is a a safety hazard as the line of sight is blocked at Washington with vehicles not being able to be seen coming northbound. We had a traffic light removed because according to a survey that was done either by the state or the city of Warren. Bishop Bonnar’s response just missed the point DEAR EDITOR: I get the sense that Bishop David J. Bonnar didn’t like the imagery or content of the Muccio editorial cartoon. Too bad. It was spot on. Tombstones are appropriate symbolism for churches and parishes that have been shuttered as part of an obviously failing plan to save the Catholic presence in the Youngstown Diocese. Rationalizing with platitudes or one-sided debating points won’t keep people in the pews or bring disheartened Catholics back. St. James’ grave marker belongs in the middle of the cartoon. Three Warren teenagers were charged with shooting guns near the Canfield Fair at 11:30 p.m. One of those teens was only 13 years old and had purchased the gun just weeks before the incident. No adult was with them. There should now be seven cells: one for each of the teens, one for each boy’s parents, and one for the salesman who sold the gun. More than a slap on the wrist must be given.
