WARREN — The Trumbull County Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution Wednesday that will reduce the amount of taxes that county property owners will have to pay by 2.5%. In making the vote, the commissioners acknowledged the decision likely will not be popular with school leaders and other elected officials because it will hurt their financial bottom line because of the reduced amount they will receive. LIBERTY — A Youngstown man accused of threatening staff at a local mental hospital made an appearance in court on Wednesday. Aaron Jones, 32, pleaded not guilty to a pair of assault charges in front of Girard Municipal Court Judge Jeffery Adler. According to a police report, officers were called to Generations Behavioral Health in reference to an assault, and dispatchers said the suspect was aggressive and threatening staff. COLUMBUS (AP) — The Trump administration’s attempts to obtain state-level voter data have suffered yet another legal blow. U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie Gallagher last week dismissed a Justice Department lawsuit against Maryland that sought access to the state’s voter records.
