US job openings rise slightly to 7.3 million as labor market remains sturdy despite higher costs

WASHINGTON (AP) — Employers posted slightly more job openings in July but the American labor market remained sturdy in the face of higher costs that are squeezing household budgets. U.S. job openings ticked up to 7.27 million in July from a revised 7.18 million in June, the Labor Department reported Tuesday. Sheriff will provide deputies to serve in area school districts

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners are expected to vote today on contracts involving seven area school districts and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office enabling sheriff’s deputies to provide School Resource Officers through June 2027. The school districts each will pay the sheriff’s office $83,701.78. The deputies will provide the district’s law enforcement protections during times when the schools are in session.
