OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL FESTIVAL: The 93rd annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at the grounds of St. Pope John Pau XXIII Church, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles. The festival will include homemade food, live bands performing nightly, raffles, amusement rides, bingo and bocce. HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong dog owners and their four-legged friends have gained new freedoms after the city relaxed a decades-old rule, allowing the pets to join them at eateries. Since 1994, only guide dogs and those performing statutory duties were allowed in restaurants under the city’s food business regulation. WARREN TOWNSHIP — Trustees plan to honor a township family whose sons all excelled in athletics by having a road named “Sixth Street Browner Way.” Trustee Ed Anthony said plans are underway to host a ceremony Saturday to honor the Browner family. Plans are to designate a portion of Fifth Street from Tod Avenue SW to the Warren city limits as “Browner Way” and dedicate a sign.
