NILES — City council is looking to adjust how they handle anonymous messages moving forward, with one official acknowledging they should have never accepted the initial letter that sparked the discussion. McDonald council seeks new member

McDONALD — Village councilman Don Smith, who has served as chairman of the finance and levy committees, will step down at the end of July because he and his family are moving to Florida. Members of council thanked Smith for his service and plan to seek applicants to fill the seat. Mayor Ray Lewis said Smith has been a dedicated member of the community. Warren woman pleads to 7 sex charges

WARREN — A city woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to numerous sex charges, heading off a trial that was set to begin the same day. Alecehia Harris, 34, of Laird Avenue NE, pleaded guilty before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean O’Brien to four counts of gross sexual imposition and three counts of sexual battery. In exchange for her plea, three charges of rape were reduced to sexual battery, according to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office.
