Warren woman pleads to 7 sex charges
WARREN — A city woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to numerous sex charges, heading off a trial that was set to begin the same day.
Alecehia Harris, 34, of Laird Avenue NE, pleaded guilty before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean O’Brien to four counts of gross sexual imposition and three counts of sexual battery. In exchange for her plea, three charges of rape were reduced to sexual battery, according to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office.
The indictment states that Harris had sexual contact with a female victim between March 1 and March 3, 2025. The victim in the case was 17 at the time and a relative of Harris.
She will submit to a background investigation prior to sentencing. Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman said he will ask the judge to sentence Harris to a term in prison.
State law states that Harris faces maximum 18-month terms for each of the gross sexual imposition convictions and 60-month terms for each of the sexual battery convictions. At sentencing, Harris also will be declared a Tier 3 sexual offender, which requires a lifetime registration four times per year.
