WHAT: Board of education meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Joel Polonius, David Wise, Beth Haddle, Michelle Garman and Marc Burcham
The board:
• Approved Student Protective Agency as the district’s student accident insurance provider at no cost to the board.
• Approved transferring $100,000 from the general fund to the athletic fund.
• Approved Polonius as a volunteer football coach.
• Approved Matt Polta as the district’s head varsity football coach for $7,800.
• Approved granting Tim Stull, Rachael Thomas and Rachel Davies two-year limited teaching contracts for the 2026-27 school year.
• Approved granting Delaney Wyant and Michele Bolchalk one-year limited teaching contracts for the 2026-27 school year.
• Approved a supplemental contract with Jennifer Frazzini as Special Education Supervisor for the 2026-2027 school year, totaling $12,000.
• Accepted elementary teacher Christina Lamberto’s resignation, effective April 1.
• Accepted Kaymoura Werner’s resignation as a Title I teacher at the end of the 2025-26 school year.
• Approved Chelsea Johnson as a permanent substitute teacher at Mathews Elementary School for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year at a rate of $130 a day.
• Approved Isabella DelGarbino as a day-to-day substitute teacher at a rate of $110 a day.
• Approved Maddie Powell as a day-to-day substitute teacher at a rate of $110 a day.
• Approved a list of 51 students for graduation from Mathews High School for the 2025-26 school year, pending completion of all state and local requirements.
• Approved McGown and Markling Co. LPAs, including, but not limited to, Matthew Markling, to serve as the designee for suspension and expulsion hearings and appeals, to be used at the board and superintendent’s discretion.
