Don’t be fooled, because it really can happen here

DEAR EDITOR: “It can’t happen here,” many people say. I would agree with you, but then, we’d both be wrong. A recent movie was released, “Judgment at Nuremberg,” which tells the story of the post WWII trials uncovering the German leadership’s role in supporting Nazi dictatorship and the crimes against humanity as carried out by law during WWII. Experience isn’t all that matters for judges

DEAR EDITOR: On Oct. 17, 2024, the world shattered for the family of Nick Stoian. He was tragically killed in a car accident. What followed throughout the next 14 months was constant salt in the wound for his family. The judge charged with deciding the fate of all involved chose extreme leniency. The fact that only a one-year license suspension was imposed is a slap in the face to the entire Stoian family. Support judge’s efforts on abortion law language

DEAR EDITOR: I’m writing this letter in regard to domestic court Judge David Engler’s efforts to change the current Ohio law where parents don’t need to have knowledge of whether their minor child is getting an abortion. It’s absurd that language was used to sneak this by us voters. I’m glad I support Judge Engler’s taking on the entire state to get that law changed. DEAR EDITOR: We have been customers of the Tribune Chronicle for many years, but I am planning a change. We live about 200 yards from Mahoning County near the Trumbull County line. I think that it is ridiculous that I must buy a Tribune to see the nearby Trumbull County schools’ scores—teams such as Newton Falls, Lordstown and McDonald. And I have to buy a Vindicator to see local school scores, such as Jackson-Milton, Canfield and Austintown Fitch. Danny Lee Hill gave no mercy, received too much

DEAR EDITOR: Once again, Danny Lee Hill appeals to our government for mercy. Our government has already given Hill years of mercy. He sits in prison with all of the costs of living paid for by the American taxpayers. His crime was a brutal, savage act of cruelty that showed no mercy to a young boy. Sadly, the family of this boy has had to relive this horrible experience year after year. Where was their mercy?
