DEAR EDITOR: “Wake up!” Tell me you can’t see the similarity between the Third Reich (Adolph Hitler) and the “Fourth Reich” (Donald Trump)? Look at the history: Hitler’s Brown Shirts and Trump’s MAGA followers and Hitler’s SS and Gestapo and Trump’s ICE. Look further and compare Hitler’s Reich to Trump’s: concentration camps in Nazi Germany and Trump’s concentration camps in Florida (Alligator Alcatraz, El Salvador and Venezuela.) Trumbull County needs a fiscal hawk

DEAR EDITOR: Mark my words — the Trumbull County commissioners will tap into the Reserve Fund to balance the budget at the end of the year. Trumbull County needs a full-time budget director, a fiscal hawk, if you will, whose job is to study the numbers, rather than three commissioners who request updates from department heads seven months into the year. If not for the Reserve Fund, the commissioners would have had no choice but to implement a .25-5% sales tax increase, as discussed earlier in the year. Who gets to decide what the facts are?

DEAR EDITOR: How do you send a letter these days anonymously? The best way is by snail mail to a major paper, however they generally do not publish anonymous letters. Prejudice exists because people want to “know the source” to judge if it is creditable. The merits of the argument are not considered until those in control know who wrote it so they can “judge” if it is worthy. Bringing into question their own motives, intelligence and mentality. DEAR EDITOR: President Trump is wrong to send soldiers to manage citizens in Washington, D.C., or any other cities: We pay for the military. We pay for recruitment, uniforms, training, and weapons with our tax money. So Trump cannot use them against us. The National Guard is not needed in Washington, as records show that violent crime in the city has dropped over the last two years. But Trump is a tyrant who cannot resist throwing his weight around.
