DEAR EDITOR: We’ve got trouble in New York City; it starts with an M and his name is Mamdani, (Zohran Mamdani). Don’t bring your socialist-communist ideology to my city or state. Unless you know what this is like or have a relative who has or still lives under this kind of regime. DEAR EDITOR: Trump promises $2,000 payments to most Americans during Sunday morning Truth Social posting spree. Source: Independent. President Donald Trump promised to pay almost all Americans $2,000 as he touts his tariff plan in a Truth Social posting spree. As part of his multi-post rant touting tariffs, the president promised: “A dividend of at least $2,000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.” It’s not immediately clear when that payment would come or who qualifies as “high income.” The president mentioned no other details about the ...

Bring back the great American toothpick DEAR EDITOR: There are many unjust aspects of our society, and not least of which is the lack of publicly available toothpicks, particularly in restaurants. Patrons are provided all other necessities to enjoy a meal. Therefore, it is baffling to me as to why an essential aspect of any meal, the toothpick, is very rarely provided in restaurants anymore. I would venture to guess that most of us would use a toothpick at a restaurant more regularly than we would a spoon; most situations do not require a spoon, which is generally only utilized ...

DEAR EDITOR: The “Gone Mad” political cartoon was quite offensive on several levels. Besides the intended racist undertones, there is the accepted understanding that since his endorsed candidate lost, Trump wishes the millions of Americans in New York will just “Drop Dead.” Probably the most insulting aspect, though, is the typical Republican response of resulting to name-calling when things don’t go their way. It’s about time to consider term limits

DEAR EDITOR: Please consider having this in your weekend edition. I do believe it’s time for all voters to seriously think about “term limits” and remove every politician from their office. This shutdown has gone on way too long and both parties are to blame. There is absolutely no excuse for these members of congress to not get together to end this needless tragedy. DEAR EDITOR: The way the Republican Trump administration is being allowed to operate, it’s taps for the United States of America. Taps is the bugle signal sounded in a camp or military post at night to extinguish all lights. This is how the Trump administration is being allowed to shred our “We the People” Constitution.
