DEAR EDITOR: Wake up, people. I just witnessed three drivers pass a school bus from behind while it was letting students off. Red lights were on and the stop sign out. The bus driver was laying on the horn and so was I. I was in a parking lot. One lady had her phone on top of her steering wheel. This was Jan. 9, on Route 422 in Niles, east of Route 46, across from the dollar store at 4 p.m. I hope the bus had a camera. RAYMOND WEBKER Niles
DEAR EDITOR: Several months ago, 600 Honduran children from very young to teens were to be deported and flown back after midnight to Honduras, their future in doubt on arrival, separated from their families. A judge’s order temporarily intervened and stopped it. Where are their parents and where are these children now? Reunited? I don’t think so. Deported sneakily? Likely. They have been forgotten. After all, to this administration they are simply unimportant … and the wrong color. Will anyone ever really inspect or try to find out if these “boaters” were really big time ...
DEAR EDITOR: Extradited to the U.S. in 2022, former Honduran President Juan Carlos Hernandez was convicted in March 2024 of trafficking 400 tons of cocaine into the United States. Federal Court Judge Kevin Castel sentenced Cocaine Carlos to 45 years of incarceration. On Dec. 2, the malignant narcissist gave Hernandez a full pardon. DEAR EDITOR: On viewing my emails today, I noticed not just one, but two warnings from companies about their user’s personal data being compromised. Though (at least I hope) these two messages on the same day don’t affect me, they once again make me wonder how these companies, whose owners can use our capitalist system to acquire more wealth than any king in history, can’t, by their own admission, keep anyone from scamming their customers.
