Mary Hake-Miller 1942-2025
MINERAL RIDGE — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Hake-Miller, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Mimi, on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She lived a life full of love, faith and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary was born July 6, 1942, in Mineral Ridge, to Joseph and Mary Smith. She was raised in a devout Catholic family and her faith played a central role in her life. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church in Mineral Ridge, where she developed a strong connection to God and a deep understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Mary dedicated her life to serving others. She became the Sacristan at St. Mary Church in 1968. She devoted her time to the beautification of the church with flowers and decorations, and an unwavering commitment to her Catholic values. Mary also received the Hometown Hero award for her devotion of helping the needy and visiting the sick. She also found fulfillment in her career as a classroom spec with Fairhaven school, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness.
She was a loving and devoted mother to three children, Mike (Glenda), Alan (Christine) and Lonnie (Duane); 11 grandchildren, Lindsey (Patrick), Samuel (Haley), Jonah (Macie), Isaac (Brynn), Parker and Preston (Abbie); and six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Julia, Ella, Anna, Isla and Westin.
Mary was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort for her family and friends. She had a warm and welcoming personality, and her home was always open to those in need. She had a special gift for listening and offering words of wisdom and guidance, and her love and support knew no bounds.
Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it with grace and humility. She was a devout member of St. Mary Church in Mineral Ridge, where she actively participated in various ministries and volunteered her time to help those less fortunate. Her love for God was evident in everything she did and she was a shining example of what it means to live a life of service.
Mary will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished forever.
A funeral Mass will be held in honor of Mary Hake-Miller at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mineral Ridge, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley in her memory.
May her soul rest in peace, and may God grant her eternal life in His Kingdom. Amen.
