Catholic Women hold Night at the Races NILES — The Niles Catholic Women’s Club will host a Night at the Races 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Earthquake concerns near Meander Dam draw crowd

NILES — While officials with the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District aren’t prepared to connect cracks in the Meander Dam to earthquake activity, a group at a Niles City Council meeting implored city officials to take a stand against a nearby injection well. Raise for water superintendent ‘overdue’

NILES — The water and sewer superintendent could see a $4,000 raise if council grants final approval to a measure given first reading at a recent council meeting. Andy Catanzarite’s pay could be raised to $82,000 a year. Catanzarite said he thinks he is due the raise because he obtained his Class IV license last year and didn’t see a pay bump then. The raise is “long overdue,” said Councilman Ryan McNaughton, D-at Large, chair of the utilities committee.
