Tribune accepting A+ Teacher nominations

WARREN — When a teacher becomes a mentor, a life coach, a guide leading students toward success, then that teacher deserves an A+. And that precisely is what the Tribune Chronicle, Trumbull County Educational Service Center, Trumbull Retired Teachers Association and Outback Steakhouse want to do — give deserving teachers the sterling grade through the annual A+ Teacher Awards program. Niles City School District: The basic menu is the same for all buildings. There is a daily ham sandwich option available at the Niles Intermediate and Primary schools. Several a la carte items are available daily at Niles Middle and High schools (prices vary). Center to lose ex-mayor’s name

NILES — The Ralph A. Infante Wellness Center will be no more, if council follows through on a request from the mayor to rename the center. Mayor Tom Scarnecchia, who was a council member when he proposed legislation to name the center after then-mayor Ralph Infante, formally asked council March 15 to sponsor and pass an ordinance stripping the center of the former mayor’s name and calling it the Niles Wellness Center. NILES — Summer is near, and preparations are underway for a Niles tradition — the fifth annual Harry Stevens Hot Dog Day set for July 2 in downtown. To raise money for the festival, The Avenue and Main will present its fifth Wine and Cheese Please 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 134 N.
