Shooting at city apartment hits man

WARREN — A gunshot victim was found at a home in the 2800 block of Parkman Road NW when officers responded there for a shots-fired call Monday afternoon. When officers arrived for the 4:42 p.m. call, they found the victim, a man, who was treated by ambulance personnel and was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital. The location of the incident is an apartment complex. Officers found a crime scene, which was taped off for investigative purposes, and detectives were called out to investigate. The Tribune Chronicle is seeking nominations for its annual Trumbull County Firefighter of the Year competition. Nominees will be evaluated on dedication, productivity, loyalty and professionalism. They must serve with a fire department in Trumbull County, be at least 18 and hold any rank below chief. Fire department personnel can nominate a fellow firefighter, but nominations also can be submitted by the public. WARREN — Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sarah Kovoor sentenced a Warren man to three years in prison Tuesday for drug trafficking offenses. Elijah E. Cofield, 29, Parkwood Drive NW, Warren, received prison and $5,000 in fines after he pleaded guilty June 29 to five counts trafficking a fentanyl-related compound, five counts of trafficking in cocaine and single counts of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine and having weapons while under disability. WARREN — City Council unanimously approved a one-year moratorium on data centers Wednesday during the first meeting after returning to council chambers after the August break.
