The Trumbull County Fair is upon us, running July 14-19. Growing up, the county fair was a big part of summer life on the farm for me. As Gary and I raised our daughters, it was the same for our whole family. As 4-H club members, me an adviser and Gary the manager of the annual cheese auction, the fair was a much-anticipated event. Even though the girls have long since graduated out of 4-H and Gary and I no longer volunteer through 4-H, we anticipate visiting the fair every year. 2 lawsuits filed in crash that killed Canfield trooper

YOUNGSTOWN — The estate of Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper Nicholas Cayton has filed a lawsuit against the driver of the concrete truck who hit the back of Cayton’s cruiser Oct. 16 on state Route 11 in Canfield, killing Cayton. The estate also sued the company where the truck driver worked. The truck driver who was injured but survived the crash also has filed a lawsuit naming those same defendants.
