Nominations sought for Twenty Under 20 award

WARREN — The Tribune Chronicle is seeking nominations for its 14th annual Twenty Under 20 program. The newspaper will recognize 20 high-achieving individuals younger than 20 for their leadership skills through volunteerism, extracurricular activities and academic achievements. Nominees need to be a resident of Trumbull County, at least a freshman in high school and no older than 19 as of Dec. 1. ODNR seeks submissions for Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife is now accepting submissions for the 18th annual Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp photo contest to determine the 2027 stamp. This year’s theme is “Mammals,” and the contest is open until Sept. 15 for Ohio residents age 18 and older. Each year, the Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp showcases a photograph of Ohio’s native wildlife species, selected through a contest and judged on the photo’s originality, composition, technical excellence and overall beauty. NEWTON FALLS — Event organizers for this year’s Falls Treasure Hunt plan to continue the event in 2027 with Fieldview Acres Mercantile and Sarchione Chevrolet of Garrettsville announcing a partnership for the next event. Officials review flooding at Young’s Run

CHAMPION — Township officials said they plan to see what they can do to address flooding along Young’s Run. Trustee Doug Emerine said the three trustees, other township officials and members of the Trumbull County Soil and Water Conservation District recently walked along Young’s Run, which travels north to south. “We are trying to get some help to get it cleaned up to alleviate all the flooding issues we have had.
