Bristol approves pay increase for firefighters

BRISTOL — Township Trustees, wanting to attract and keep members for the township fire department, approved pay increases for employees on Tuesday. Trustees approved $2 pay increases for part-time firefighters/emergency medical technicians from $14 to $16 per hour and part-time firefighter/medic from $16 to $18 per hour. Trustees Chairman Doug Seemann said trustees also agreed to bring back longevity pay providing 5 cents per year for every year served for active roster members. WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners honored Nick Strimbu Inc. for its 100th anniversary of providing trucking services in Trumbull County during Wednesday’s regular meeting. Nick Strimbu Sr., working with his brothers, began hauling building materials across the county and Ohio during a period of rapid industrial and residential growth. Man accused of hurting girlfriend

LIBERTY — A Youngstown man is accused of grabbing his girlfriend by the hair and pulling her to the ground, as an argument escalated early Tuesday. Elijah Ivy, 27, appeared in front of Girard Municipal Court Judge Jeffery Adler on a felony charge of domestic violence.
