Champion police probe incident at golf course

CHAMPION — The Township Police Department is investigating vandalism at a local golf course, including damage to several golf carts and to a green on one of the holes. Police Chief Larry Skaggs said the department received a call Wednesday from the owner of Cranberry Hills Golf Course, 4891 Clovercrest Drive, of criminal damage at the business. WARREN — A former Trumbull County employee has been sentenced to six months in jail for six felonies related to her stealing money and altering records to cover up the crime. Vanessa Clark, 59, of McDonald Avenue in Niles, a former employee of the auto title division of the Trumbull County Clerk of Courts Office, was sentenced Tuesday by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sarah Kovoor to 180 days in jail, with credit for 88 days already served while awaiting sentencing, court records show. County approves spending $2M in senior funds

WARREN — Trumbull County Commissioners during their Wednesday meeting approved using $1,955,000 in Trumbull Senior Levy funding to provide services to the county’s senior residents. The county’s senior levy board provided recommendations to the commissioners on how the money should be allocated among organizations that submitted bids for service contracts. WARREN — Members of the North End Neighborhood Watch Group want to see vehicles off the roads, especially at night, and their councilwoman is helping them to make it a reality as city officials are banning overnight parking. 2 men sentenced in cases involving minors

WARREN — A Leavittsburg man was sentenced Tuesday to two-to-three-years in prison in a child pornography case. Allan Patchin, 36, of Burwell Road, also was declared a Tier 2 sex offender by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sarah Kovoor, meaning he will have to register his address with the local sheriff every six months for 25 years after he is released from prison.
