Man acquitted of felonious assault in 2021 now facing new charges

Staff report WARREN — A city man acquitted of attempted murder and felonious assault charges in June of 2021 was among 29 people indicted Thursday by a Trumbull County grand jury. Daron Warfield Jr., 37, Austin Avenue SW, Warren, is facing three counts of strangulation, and one count each of felony domestic violence and felony menacing by stalking, and misdemeanor criminal damaging/endangering and telecommunications harassment. State grants awarded to upgrade 2 intersections

The Ohio Department of Transportation awarded two grants to Trumbull County for a roundabout in Braceville and reduced collision U-turn lanes at a Southington intersection. The project in Braceville is getting a $5.61 million grant while the Southington one will receive $2.54 million. The Braceville project, to be done in 2032, would create a roundabout at the intersection of state Routes 5 and 534.
