WARREN -- A city man acquitted of attempted murder and felonious assault charges in June of 2021 was among 29 people indicted Thursday by a Trumbull County grand jury.
Daron Warfield Jr., 37, Austin Avenue SW, Warren, is facing three counts of strangulation, and one count each of felony domestic violence and felony menacing by stalking, and misdemeanor criminal damaging/endangering and telecommunications harassment.
Although a jury acquitted Warfield of the two charges in 2021, he was still sentenced to four years in prison for a probation violation stemming from a February 2018 conviction on charges of possession of heroin and cocaine.
He served one year at the Lorain Correctional Institution on drug possession charges and was released in October 2019, followed by five years of probation.
In January 2020, Warfield was charged with two counts of felonious assault in connection to the shootings of Melissa Putsey and Jamey L. Stamper, both of Niles.
It was reported at the time that the pair was on the southwest side of Warren because Stamper was looking to buy drugs.
Warfield was acquitted on those charges after a several day trial, but the crime triggered a probation violation, court records show.
Also indicted Thursday and due for preliminary hearings in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court in the next several weeks are:

• Jhveeti R. Street, 41, Cranwood Drive SW, Warren, felonious assault with a three-year firearm specification and having weapons while under disability.
• Mario D. Patterson, 47, Milton Street SE, Warren, OVI with a vehicle forfeiture specification.
• Frank R. Hites, 41, state Route 88, Bristolville, having weapons while under disability and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
• Hayden C. Foster, 26, North Road, Warren, two counts OVI, both with a vehicle forfeiture specification.
• Christopher J. Cornwell, 31, South Forest Avenue, Youngstown, harassment with a bodily substance.
• Ronald L. Hall, 63, Southern Boulevard NW, Warren, domestic violence.
• Breawna N. Jackson, 31, Hall Street, Warren, theft.
• Nicole R. Brown, 38, Wayland Avenue, Kinsman, theft.
• William J. Schwab, 32, Chestnut Avenue, Warren, domestic violence and misdemeanor aggravated menacing.
• Shantae J. Mason, 32, Southern Boulevard NW, Warren, burglary and misdemeanor counts of assault and aggravated trespass.
• Ashley Mae Bika, 37, Buckeye Street NW, Warren, aggravated possession of drugs.
• Tyshawn Kidd, 34, Adelaide Avenue SE, Warren, having weapons while under disability, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and OVI.
• Maurice Griggs, 40, Ridge Avenue SE, Warren, three felony counts and one misdemeanor count of violating protection order.
• Avery Patterson, 28, Stewart Drive, Warren, superseding, having weapons while under disability and aggravated possession of drugs.
• Caunswayla L. Porter, 36, Roberts Avenue NW, Warren, theft from person in a protected class.
• James E. White, 44, Ridge Road SE, Warren, possession of cocaine and misdemeanor obstructing official business.
• Julius A. McKinney, 37, Parkman Road NW, Warren, having weapons while under disability and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
• Raymond T. Hudak, 38, Everett Hull Road, Cortland, two counts of domestic violence.
• Morgan W. McIntyre, 28, South Dunlap Avenue, Youngstown, trespass in a habitation when a person is/likely to be present, disrupting public services and misdemeanor counts of theft and assault.
• Jeffery Ray Crowe, 47, Tod Avenue SW, Warren, grand theft and improper use of a certificate of title.
• Joseph Mayerchak, 42, Canal Street, Wheatland, Pa., receiving stolen property and misdemeanor counts of illegal use/possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.
• Laurie L. Pizzulo, 53, Northwest Boulevard NW, Warren, aggravated possession of drugs.
• Jonathan R. Byrd, 44, King Graves Road, Warren, trespass in habitation when a person is/likely to be present and misdemeanor assault.
• Daniel R. Schlesing, 43, Basswood Avenue NE, Warren, theft.
• Adam Moore, 31, Akron, felonious assault and felony domestic violence.
• Bryce A. Coleman, 18, Atlantic Street NE, Warren, carrying concealed weapons and obstructing official business.
