Zoning commission to address data centers

WARREN TOWNSHIP — The township zoning commission is working to get a temporary moratorium in place on data centers in the community. Darryl Parker, chairman of the zoning commission, told residents this week that the commission is planning to place a temporary moratorium on the zoning books on data centers. 5 face charges in golf course vandalism

CHAMPION — Five adults are facing charges in connection with recent vandalism at a Champion golf course. Police Chief Larry Skaggs said in addition to the five adults, two juveniles are also to have charges filed next week in connection to the vandalism. The adults, who are all charged with first degree felony counts of vandalism, are Colton Alford, 18, Brady Bell, 18, Camren Corrigon, 19, Joshua Meese, 18, and Colton Sharpe, 18. City woman convicted of murdering her child denied parole

WARREN — Joy Hodge, 43, was denied parole recently in the 2011 murder of her 15-month-old daughter at their home on Transylvania Street SE in Warren and must serve at least 10 more years in prison. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Hodge will have her next parole hearing in May 2036. Hodge is incarcerated in Dayton Correctional Institution. She was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. WARREN — Another person who participated in the operation of prostitution houses at the Tiger Spa, 420 W. Market St., and the Sunny Spa, also on West Market Street, was sentenced Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Kum Cha Shugars, 77, of Dallas, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felonies of promoting prostitution and attempted money laundering and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
