CHAMPION -- Five adults are facing charges in connection with recent vandalism at a Champion golf course.
Police Chief Larry Skaggs said in addition to the five adults, two juveniles are also to have charges filed next week in connection to the vandalism.
The adults, who are all charged with first degree felony counts of vandalism, are Colton Alford, 18, Brady Bell, 18, Camren Corrigon, 19, Joshua Meese, 18, and Colton Sharpe, 18.
The five are scheduled to appear in court on September 3.
The vandalism and criminal damage incident took place at the Cranberry Hills Golf Course off Clovercrest Drive on July 29. Seven golf carts and the fourth hole green were damaged or destroyed with damage estimates at $26,102 on the green and $15,755 in repairs for the seven golf carts.
Reports indicate Steve Welch, the owner of the course, told police someone took several golf carts out of a shed where they were stored and drove them onto the course and damaged them.
Reports indicate carts were found scattered throughout the property with one cart found stuck in tall grass by a pond, one on a hill, two along a path in the grass and others located in the area of hole No. 4.
Reports indicate that all the carts had major damage which included flat tires, bumpers damaged and ripped off, seats torn and broken, and fenders cracked and broken off with some fenders missing.
Tire marks were found all over the green.
Welch told police this was the third incident of vandalism in recent weeks.
Police through their investigation and watching of camera videos were able to locate and interview those connected with the vandalism.
