NILES — There are 200,000 reasons why Friday night will be special for Niles City Schools — not just for the high school marching band, but for the entire community, thanks to an NFL grant. County considers expanding sites for bed tax

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners are expected to vote to require short-term rental facilities with five or fewer rooms to pay the same lodging tax that larger hotels and motels pay. Trumbull now charges 5% lodging or bed taxes on short-term lease organizations that have five or more beds. Of that amount, 3% is used by the Western Reserve Port Authority, and 2% is used by the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau. Medical records delay stalls assault case of trustee in Liberty

WARREN — The parties in the Devon Stanley felonious assault case met by Zoom on Tuesday afternoon with Special Prosecutor Dan Kasaris of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office saying the case is being held up by a lack of response from Mercy Health in providing medical records. Stanley, 53, of Liberty, a Liberty Township trustee and chief deputy clerk of the Trumbull County Clerk of Courts Office, is charged with second-degree-felony felonious assault.
