PRESENT: Jamin Banning, Bruce Bancroft and Greg Leonhard
Trustees:
• Announced “Clean Up After Your Dog” signs have been posted at the township green as a reminder to those who walk their dogs in the area.
• Heard from Fire Chief Tyler Elser, who has applied for a $14,000 Ohio Public Works Commission grant for three sets of turnout gear, and an Ohio MARCS grant through the state fire marshal’s office for speakers, radios and pagers.
• Leonhard said he is trying to get in contact with Rep. David Joyce on what the state can do to help alleviate flooding problems on Yoder and Elm streets and other parts of the township. Residents said they are concerned about heavy flooding next spring or after the snow melts.
• Heard from Leonhard that the township has taken legal action against a resident driving overweight trucks on Ward Christy Road, causing damage to the road. A hearing is set for Nov. 4 in Trumbull Eastern District Court in Brookfield.
• Heard from Bancroft that Brite Speed wants to lay fiber optic in the township and will attend a future meeting to discuss what it can offer.
• Will be reviewing applicants for the fiscal officer position, with Marge Crupi retiring in May. Trustees will set up interviews with plans to select a new fiscal officer in November. The person selected will fill the remainder of Crupi’s term through March 2028.
• Received reimbursement of $3,500 for Go Green Grant for additional security cameras at the garage and for a garbage truck used on cleanup day, and $1,679 for a scrap tire grant.
• Approved the park committee to plant memorial barrier trees between the south side of the green space and State Street. Resident Dick Thompson donated a large stone to be engraved and placed at the green space.
• Heard from Elser that smoke detectors are available for the public at the fire department.
