WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

PRESENT: Russell Sewell, Tim Gibson, Karen Ancell, Bradley Gamlin and Julia Shott

The board:

• Heard from Superintendent Anthony Calderone the new band shelter will be worked on this fall, but will not be used until the 2026 band night and football season. Calderone said there is work that needs to be done that will prevent it from being finished this month.

• Approved the retirement of principal Martin Kelly effective July 31, 2026. Kelly has been with the district since the 2009-2010 school year, serving as a middle school principal, and the past three years as intermediate school principal.

• Approved the retirement of Melanie Wolke, a middle school intervention teacher, effective May 29, 2026.

• Hired Mariana Romero-Gonzalez as an English language learner tutor at $30 per hour.

• Approved use of the school complex cafeteria and kitchen by the elementary parent teacher organization for Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 12 and 13.
