WHAT: City council meeting Monday
PRESENT: Kevin Piros, Don Moore, Jim Bradley, Kathy Fleischer, Richard McClain, John Picuri, Scott Rowley and Mayor Dedrie Petrosky
Council:
• Gave first reading to purchase two camera systems to be used by the service department in the city’s storm and sanitary sewer lines from Safety Company LLC at $107,121. Petrosky said one system is $85,000 and the second $22,000.
• Gave first reading to purchase for installation by the service department 14 cellular water / sewer system meters, supporting equipment and service plan from Metron Smart Meters and Systems of Boulder, Colorado, at $9,270.
• Announced a police department informational meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in council chambers to answer questions about the police levy on the Nov. 4 ballot. The local Fraternal Order of Police will host a community event 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 on Main Street with various activities and vendors.
• Announced trick or treat is 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
• Announced the Veterans Day celebration will be 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the veterans memorial, with special recognition for World War II and Korean War veterans.
• Held a moment of silence for Robert Wilson, who served as a teacher, principal and superintendent for Lakeview schools, who died recently.
• Gave final reading for location of “No Parking” signs in specified areas.
