WHAT: Township trustee meeting Oct. 6

PRESENT: Doug Emerine, Rick York and Rex Fee

Trustees:

• Accepted a First Energy Solutions grant of $12,639 and a More Grant of $1,000 for purchase of road cones and bars not to exceed $1,000.

• Heard from Fee that Lisa Ramsey of Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership reported a contractor has removed trees and brush from Refractories Drive leading to Diversified Resources U.S. Inc. industrial site. Fee said the contractor will first remove any nontoxic barrels from the property and then any toxic ones.

• Approved applying for a property tax exemption for the storage building constructed by the former township hall.

• Announced a trunk or treat will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building parking lot. To participate, call 330-847-6117.

• Heard from Fee a guardrail would not be allowed at the four-way intersection of State Road where vehicles have gone onto one resident’s property.

• Approved purchase of 12 snowplow blades, from the Dexter Company.

• Approved placement of a stop sign at the intersection of Woodrow and Lauder avenues at the request of local residents.

Accepted a donation of an artificial Christmas tree from resident Dianna Baycich.
