WHAT: Trumbull County Educational Service Center governing board meeting Monday

PRESENT: Al Haberstroh, Denise Domhoff, Tom Krispinsky, Laura Rubesich and Deborah Patchin

The board:

• Approved an agreement with Champion schools to provide interpreter services for the district, which houses hearing impaired programs.

• Approved an agreement with Warren City Schools to provide principal services.

• Approved an agreement with Pymatuning Valley to provide the district with a gifted teacher and gifted supervisor.

• Approved an agreement with Doug Hiscox for business advisory council support to be paid by Title II grants.

• Approved Arlo Brookhart as director of curriculum and instruction. He previously was a supervisor for curriculum and instruction.

WHAT: Township trustees July meeting

PRESENT: Jim Cicchillo and Jeff Waldeck

ABSENT: Doug Seemann

Trustees:

• Heard from George Gordon Jr. about his father, George Gordon, who recently died, and said his father did not want any services but asked for donations to be sent to the Bristol Fire Department. He presented a $500 donation from his employer.

• Heard from residents who asked if a speed study can be done on Hyde Oakfield Road, which they said is in poor condition in some areas.

• Heard from Ken Weeks the zoning commission will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at township hall with discussion on alternative energy sources, such as solar energy, and short-term rentals.

• Heard from fire Chief Steve Craiger that he has started the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation grant for a new lift assist cot.

• Heard from Harry Samuels from ALOV2 to discuss the mailer sent out to Bristol residents over the oil and gas land lease meeting. For information, visit alov2llc.com.
