Bond set at 150k for Warren man arrested in drug raid

WARREN — Bond was set at $150,000 for a Warren man arrested Monday morning during a raid at a Tod Avenue residence that led to the seizure of illegal narcotics and a firearm.

Darius Priest, 33, of Tod Avenue, appeared before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sean O’Brien Wednesday for his arraignment. He pleaded not guilty and his next court appearance is scheduled June 25.

Priest is charged with third-degree trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, fourth-degree trafficking in cocaine, second-degree trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, second-degree aggravated trafficking in drugs, three fourth-degree counts of trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, three counts of fourth-degree trafficking in heroin, first-degree possession of cocaine with forfeiture specification, first-degree possession of cocaine and two counts of fifth-degree possession of cocaine,

According to a news release from the Warren Police Department, Priest was arrested at the scene and taken to the Trumbull County jail.

At 7:13 a.m. Monday, the department’s Street Crimes Unit, alongside the Warren Tactical Entry Team and Trumbull Action Group, executed a search warrant at 1545 Tod Ave. NW. The operation followed an extensive investigation into suspected drug activity at the location, according to police.

The release states officers recovered approximately 3.8 ounces (109 grams) of suspected crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia and a 9mm handgun. Priest faces charges pending lab results from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

He was arrested on 14 active felony drug warrants from a secret indictment by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, including trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds, cocaine and heroin, as well as possession of cocaine with forfeiture specifications. Additionally, he faces a domestic violence charge through Warren Municipal Court.
