Three drug trafficking cases addressed
WARREN — Three drug trafficking cases were addressed Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Two people were arraigned in separate trafficking cases, while another pleaded guilty to a charge of selling methamphetamine.
Javonte Reed, 23, of 1220 Roberts Ave. NW, Apt E7, pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound. Reed was the subject of a TAG investigation last November, court records show. Judge Peter J. Kontos set bond at $2,500 and a pre-trial hearing will be Thursday before Judge Ronald J. Rice.
Lavell Berry, 35, of 1836 Hamilton St. SW, pleaded not guilty to five counts of trafficking in crack cocaine. Berry again was investigated by TAG beginning last summer.
Kontos set bond at $2,500 and set a pre-trial hearing for this morning before Judge Andrew D. Logan.
Jail records say both Reed and Berry were picked up on secret indictments on Friday. The records also show that Reed posted bond on Monday afternoon.
The TAG is a multi-jurisdictional task force in Trumbull County.
Also in court Monday was Brandon Lee Lydon, 31, of 1074 Garden St. NW, who pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravating trafficking in drugs. Kontos will sentence Lydon after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by the Trumbull County Adult Probation Department. He could face up to a year in prison.
Lydon, who was free after posting bond, was accused on March 21, 2018, of selling 0.98 gram of methamphetamine to a confidential source with the sheriff’s TAG drug task force, according to prosecutors.
