Woman arraigned in Friday’s city shooting

WARREN — City police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a man Sunday night.

It was Warren’s fourth homicide of 2026.

Police responded to a domestic violence call in the 2200 block of South Feederle Drive SE about 9:30 p.m. Once on the scene, officers located one victim suffering multiple stab wounds and transported him to St. Joseph Warren Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to a news release from Warren police.

A suspect, Nazeer Buckley, 30, was arrested on a charge of murder and booked into the Trumbull County jail early Monday. Police had not yet released the name of the victim as of Monday afternoon.

In the third homicide of the year in Warren, Damien Michael Williams, 25, was shot in the head and killed on School Street NW on March 31. Serroyan Jubar Couto, 19, has been charged in that homicide.

The city had a total of seven homicides in 2025.

FRIDAY SHOOTING

A 24-year-old woman had her bond set at $250,000 as she pleaded not guilty Monday to felonious assault after police say she shot her boyfriend three times at a home on Warren’s southwest side Friday morning.

Brianna Nichols appeared in Warren Municipal Court before Judge Patricia Knepp on the second-degree felony charge stemming from the shooting in the 1300 block of Highland Avenue SW. Knepp also ordered Nichols to have no contact with the victim or his family.

A public defender represented her. Nichols told police her boyfriend was “coming after her,” so she shot him, according to a police department news release.

Officers responded to reports of the shooting at 11:48 a.m. and found the victim with two gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the back of the head. He was taken to a hospital with what police described as serious injuries.

The victim was identified in court records as Nichols’ boyfriend.

Court records indicate Nichols has an extensive criminal, traffic and capias history and was deemed a risk of serious physical harm to the community and a flight risk.

Nichols is scheduled to appear April 24 before Judge Natasha Natale for a preliminary hearing and probation violation hearing.

Nichols has prior charges including menacing by stalking, criminal damaging, aggravated menacing and felonious assault, according to court records.

Starting at $3.23/week.
