Man indicted in fatal 2017 crash
WARREN — A Kinsman man accused of causing a deadly crash in Bazetta on May 8, 2017, was indicted Thursday by a Trumbull County grand jury on a misdemeanor charge of vehicular homicide.
Mark J. Donaldson, 19, formerly of Farmdale, was 18 at the time of the two-vehicle crash that happened on Johnson Plank Road east of North Park Avenue. Donaldson is accused of crossing the center line and hitting a van driven by Marye E. Urey, 59, of Warren, head on.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol crash report stated Urey’s vehicle went into a ditch on the side of the road, landing at a 45-degree angle with the passenger side door in a position that would not allow it to be opened. Urey and her passenger, Melissa Urey, 25, also of Warren, were trapped inside the van for nearly an hour. Marye Urye was not wearing a seatbelt and she died at the hospital a short time after the crash.
Donaldson originally was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, but the grand jury indicted him instead on the misdemeanor, sending his case back to Central District Court. No court information on Donaldson was available Friday.
