Man indicted in robbery

WARREN – A Brookfield man was indicted Tuesday by a Trumbull County grand jury in connection with a mid-January armed robbery at the USA Gas Mart across from the Warren police station.

Jacob A. Hill, 33, 1025 S. Park Drive, was charged with aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. He is scheduled to be arraigned April 7 before Common Pleas Judge Andrew Logan. Hill remains in custody on $100,000 bond, according to court records.

If found guilty, Hill could face up to 14 years in prison on the felony charges.

At 1 p.m. Jan. 19, police said, a man entered USA Gas Mart at South Street SE and Pine Avenue SE holding a black pistol, wearing a black coat and a partial camouflage ski mask.

The man demanded cash and according to a police report, he got away with about $1,800. Police examined surveillance tapes and dusted the cash register for fingerprints because the store clerk said the man who grabbed the cash wasn’t wearing gloves. Hill was arrested following an 11:30 p.m. traffic stop Jan. 21, police said.
