Update: Tues. 6:10 p.m.: Power out for 21 precincts, but voting continues

WARREN – Power at 21 voting precinct locations in Trumbull County was lost this afternoon, but voting continues with the use of generators and paper ballots, said Stephanie Penrose, executive director of the Trumbull County Board of Elections.

Generators have been placed in five of the locations, and two more generators are on their way, Penrose said. Paper ballots are being used and board employees are printing more to ensure the polling stations are “well-stocked,” Penrose said.

“There has been no break in voting so far,” Penrose said.

There are about 19 outages in and around Warren, according to FirstEnergy Corp. A company spokesman said wet and windy weather conditions are to blame.
