Robin Luke Caviness Jr., 38, of Howland, was arrested this evening in connection with the early morning shooting death of Clayton L. Bender, 23, of Warren, outside of Madden’s Bar & Grill in Niles, according to U.S. Marshals.

Caviness was charged with murder, with more charges expected, marshals said. A firearm also was recovered.

Police say that shortly before 2 a.m., Caviness fired a half dozen shots into a black Cadillac in a parking lot outside the bar, fatally wounding Bender, who was in the back seat. Police say Caviness and three other people took off in a black pickup truck.

Police did not say whether the other three people are in custody or if they will be charged.
