Halloween weekend coming to state park

HALLOWEEN WEEKEND AT MOSQUITO: Halloween Weekend will take place Saturday and Sunday at Mosquito Lake State Park in Bazetta. From noon to 3 p.m., there will be Haunted Campground wagon rides through the campground to see the decorated camp area for the holiday. There also will be chalk on the walk where children can transform the pavement at the basketball courts into a magical canvas of pumpkins, owls and spooky characters. It’s finally fall on the farm

It’s fall! I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to write that line. I love fall. The weather cools down, the leaves begin to change, food becomes cozy, and I can finally wear my extensive wardrobe of hoodies and jeans. Harvest is right around the corner, school has begun, and football season is in full swing. Life might be perfect! My favorite fruit, apples, have also hit the markets fresh off the trees, and all things apple and pumpkin flavored are filling the shelves. Cemetery Walk kicks off season

ONE-HOUR TOUR: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will offer a cemetery walk at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Niles Union Cemetery, highlighting the stories of several people from Niles. Seeing Eye: Steps of Hope walk planned for Saturday

STEPS OF HOPE WALK: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will host its fifth annual Steps of Hope Walk 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Perkins Park in Warren. The event is open to the public via registration. Nearly 400 walkers are expected to raise more than $25,000 for the St. Vincent de Paul Northeast Ohio District to support community members in need.
