SATURDAY
WARREN — The Martin Luther King “Letter from Birmingham City Jail” will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Triyounity Health and Wellness Club, 239 Main Ave. SW, Warren. The event will include Vincent Shivers as historian storyteller, Pastor Orneil Heller as theological historian and Penny Wells as empowering educator.
SUNDAY
YOUNGSTOWN — The Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee of the Mahoning Valley will host its annual community interfaith worship service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave., Youngstown. The messenger for the service will be the Rev. Dr. Asa Lee, president of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The host pastor is the Rev. J. Dwayne Heard. The event is free.
WARREN — The Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day service at 6 p.m. Sunday at St. James Church of God in Christ, 1838 Main Ave. SW, Warren. The speaker is the Rev. Kenneth Simon of New Bethel Baptist Church in Youngstown. The TCIMA Choir will perform. TCIMA president is the Rev. Eric Brown.
MONDAY
YOUNGSTOWN — The Martin Luther King Jr Planning Committee of the Mahoning Valley will host its annual community workshop at 9 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Registration for the program begins at 8:30 am and the program will start at 9 a.m. Ohio NAACP State President Tom Roberts will serve as the keynote speaker for the workshop. Host pastor is the Rev. Payne Warner. The event is free.
