The seeing eye
COMMUNITY NIGHT: Bloomfield High School will present its Community Night 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday for families and the community. The event is designed to showcase student learning, extracurricular opportunities and the strong sense of connection that defines the Bloomfield school community. The theme “Bloomfield High School: Where Every Student Finds Their Spotlight.” Staff and students will showcase classroom learning, clubs, extracurricular activities and academic programs. Community organizations also will be present, helping to highlight the strong partnerships that support students beyond the classroom. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the building, interact with staff and students, and learn about the wide range of opportunities available at the high school.
ANIMAL SAFETY: An informational meeting will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Country Grind, 3780 state Route 305, Southington, for discussion on proposed legislation for improving animal safety laws. Animal advocates for animal welfare will be in attendance to discuss the proposed legislation. There will be refreshments. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs will meet at noon today at the Sunrise Banquet Center in Warren. The Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs is seeking applicants for a $750 scholarship to be awarded in April. The scholarship is designed to assist a Trumbull County woman in furthering her education in an accredited educational program. The applicant must be age 24 or older and a resident of Trumbull County. Applications are available by contacting Lousie Kline at 330-727-8515 The deadline to apply is March 31.
