Trumbull commissioners waste $600,000 on vehicle

DEAR EDITOR: Recently, the Tribune Chronicle reported on the $600,000 purchase of a Mobile Emergency Command Vehicle (MECV). This purchase was approved by all three of last year’s Trumbull County commissioners. I have been waiting for the Tribune to do a poll of its readers to see how they felt about it. Apparently they did not care to know. In my opinion this has to be one of the worst expenditures the county ever made. DEAR EDITOR: Some years ago, I was watching a World War II documentary with a family member. On screen, emaciated German Jews were being beaten and driven like cattle by their Nazi captors. The letter writer from Burghill on Aug. 23 was absolutely correct in stating that hydrilla and other aquatic plant life in Mosquito Reservoir do provide good cover and oxygen to numerous fish in the lake. This enables the fish to hide, breed, grow and multiply. Trump-Hitler comparisons are inaccurate and lazy

DEAR EDITOR: To those who compare President Trump to Adolf Hitler, I urge you to reconsider. While stationed in Germany, I visited Dachau Concentration Camp and saw firsthand the evidence of Hitler’s atrocities. He was responsible for the systematic murder of millions of civilians. To equate that level of evil with any American president is not only historically inaccurate but also diminishes the memory of those who suffered and died u nder true tyranny.
