DEAR EDITOR: PBS channel 45.2 aired the Cleveland City Club forum. The guest speaker was U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno. He was interviewed by an NBC senior political reporter, Mr. Henry Gomez. The senator took questions from the audience. Throughout the program, Sen. Immigrant crime isn’t the real problem in America

DEAR EDITOR: A report from the National Institute of Justice (part of the U.S. Department of Justice) released an analysis of Texas arrest records comparing immigrants and U.S.-born citizens. In a report titled “Undocumented Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate” the notes section on Page 7 states: For the period of 2012 to 2018 in Texas, the total violent crime arrest rate was 213 per 100,000, for U.S.-born citizens and 96.2 per 100,000 for undocumented immigrants.
