We the people have spoken in Warren and voted to repeal the outrageous pay raises. We are thrilled and ecstatic that Warren voters realize that their vote is their voice.

On the Warren government Facebook page, it was announced that the Perkins bridge was completed with "zero taxpayer dollars." So, my question is: Who donated the millions of dollars to build the bridge? Come to find out, it was an Appalachian grant, which comes from taxpayer dollars. Too bad that whomever writes the posts for the city of Warren is not better informed.

It is rare but refreshing to have a politician advocate for their pay to be reduced. Such is the case with Warren 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tina Milner, who we heard at a meeting to repeal the pay raises of city council. We would like to publicly thank her for realizing politicians should work for the citizens and an 89% pay raise is undeserved and greedy. Ms. Milner certainly understands the concept of We the People.

The billionaires and the MAGA cray-crays took our country and drove it straight into the right side of the ditch. Now we need to make sure the tow truck coming to the scene of the accident doesn't pull to hard and let the far-left cray-crays put us in the left side of the ditch. Let's get things centered or left-centered. It's only fair since the left won these elections with tremendous help from moderates and independents.

Power has been taken back from the billionaires. The first thing that should happen now is a bill that limits the amount of money in campaigns and the length allowed for campaign season. We need to stop the ultra-wealthy from buying political seats and stop these never-ending campaign seasons. Locally we have laws restricting yard signs for limited times before and after elections. We should be able to pass a national law ending the ridiculous money spent and campaign time allowed for all elections.

Much to my displeasure, Amy Acton is the governor-elect of Ohio. And now we wait. As a native of NE Ohio and as a physician, hopefully, she will give much needed attention to this medical desert. Obviously, we need help, and she should put this high on her list of priorities. And now we wait …
