Decker, Bishop leading Warren Junior Masters

Defending champion Susan Decker leads the girls division through two qualifying sessions of the Warren Junior Masters Bowling Tournament. Donald Bishop III leads the boys division.

Competitors rolled four games of qualifying on Saturday at Cortland Lanes, then four more games on Sunday at Champion Lanes.

The field of 15 boys and six girls will have one final four-game qualifying session this Saturday at Freeway Lanes, starting at 2 p.m.

The top six boys and top four girls after the 12 games of qualifying will advance to the finals on Sunday at 1 p.m. at McKinley Lanes. They will compete for $900 in scholarship money.

Decker leads the girls with a total of 1,575 pins (a 197 average), just ahead of two-time champion Jessica Guesman at 1,566 (196 average). They are followed by Brianna Williams (1,347), Payton Schuller (1,293), Isabelle Lincoln (1,254) and Carolynn Thomas (1,171).

On the boys’ side, Bishop has an eight-game total of 1752 (219 average) and is followed by Conner Pawlosky (1,659), Tyler Luoma (1,659), Tavish Burd (1,631), Charles Pawlosky (1,618) and Mason Persons (1,535).

Still in the hunt to grab one of the six berths in the finals are Nathan Zook (1,516), Justin Barnett (1,502), Sebastian Ruddy (1,396), Logan Cullison (1,383), Domenic Veltri (1,318), Christopher Guesman (1,297), Lucas Lancaster (1,291), Braylen Schuller (1,284) and Justin Tucker (1,250).

Bishop has a high game of 289, while Conner Pawlosky rolled a 279 and Charles Pawlosky had a 251. Decker has the girls’ best game of 242, while Guesman has a 234.
