Why show a new golf course opening when we have so many more serious issues to work on? We were angry during Trump’s first reign, and we seem even more angry now given the seriously declining mental health of the people of this nation. Shootings, stabbings and riots seem to be an everyday happening. A great Army tribute and an awful POTUS

DEAR EDITOR: The 250th anniversary of our U.S. Army was an impressive display. I have much respect for our men, women veterans. My own granddaughter is in the U.S. Army, and I am very proud of her. Trump should have been ashamed to be at the parade. He didn’t deserve to be watching the enlisted men parading before him, the cowardly draft-dodger he is. DEAR EDITOR: I agree 100% with the Tribune Chronicle editorial, “Ignore Trump’s plea to change Guardians’ name.” The Deflector-in-Chief is at it again with his post on Truth Social about restoring the name of the Cleveland Guardians back to the Indians and the Washington Commanders back to the Redskins. DEAR EDITOR: I am a senior who is fortunate to be able to take part in many of the opportunities at more than one of the SCOPE centers. I’m still very mobile, but not well to do! My physical, mental and financial health benefits from the many programs offered in close proximity to my home. I expressed my gratitude with my positive vote when the levy was on the ballot. My question is how can the Trumbull County commissioners take funds solicited as going to fund senior centers, and then, after it’s passed, divert it elsewhere? Little fair, balanced in public broadcasting

DEAR EDITOR: Being a longtime viewer of PBS news programs, I took offense with YSU’s Paul Ditchey’s comment, “If anybody thinks it’s biased, they probably don’t watch or listen to it. It is considered the most unbiased news casting in America.” Somehow I missed when they did their polling. Ditchey refers to President Hoover’s granddaughter, Margaret and her unbiased approach when interviewing. Yes, we should get rid of property taxes

DEAR EDITOR: About one month ago there was an editorial on the attempt to place a constitutional amendment eliminating property taxes. It was unsettling to read that the editorial was opposed to this effort. The Ohio State Supreme Court had ruled over a decade ago that property taxes were not to fund Ohio public schools. As per usual, rulings by the court that our government doesn’t agree with are just ignored. Ohio is also in the top 10 of the states with the highest property taxes.
