The last straw has finally arrived

DEAR EDITOR: This should be the last straw for Americans. Demolition of Eleanor Roosevelt’s Office. This is not his house. This is our house, the American people’s house. Most likely a payback for the “No Kings” rallies. The New White House Ballroom-Massive Money Laundering Operation. Literally right out of the WH. Isn’t it obvious? This is what he does, uses construction projects to launder money. Huge no-bid contracts, massive cost overruns, never-ending work and delays that add to cost. Kudos for publishing Harned opinion

DEAR EDITOR: I want to thank the Tribune Chronicle for running the editorial submitted by William R. Harned. I was saddened that so many well-known columnists gave this issue so little concern. During his campaign, Trump leaned heavily on the Christian people and received many supporters and followers. Surely his open expression of vicious hatred must have been cause for concern well and his message speaks to all. “Hate is too great a burden to bear. Trump’s government deserves a shutdown

DEAR EDITOR: What government shutdown are we talking about? If it’s the government of the people, for the people, that government ceased to exist when Trump began his rule. So the only government left to shut down is the government of Trump and the new GOP, and if that falters we’re not losing too much. After all, most federal agencies that were created for the health, safety and well-being of “the people” have already been gutted, so shutting down what’s left of Trump’s government isn’t much of an issue to most Americans. DEAR EDITOR: Many years ago, in my junior high school civics class, our teacher asked: “Is the United States a land governed by laws or is it a land governed by men?” The United States of America was born from a bitter revolution against the tyranny of King George. One thousand people protested at the local No Kings rally. What a coincidence, That’s about how many people voted for Kamala Harris from Trumbull County in the election. One should not confuse a president completing campaign promises with a monarch.
