Thank you to two Hubbard EMTs for their assistance

DEAR EDITOR: Thanks to Joint Eagle Fire District EMTs Jeremy and McKenzie, both of whom were very compassionate and professional in responding to my need for help recently. As a Hubbard city taxpayer, I finally “benefited” from the fire levy. I make no apologies to Chief Stanish, whom I’ve pestered the past several years with visits and notes to the station, about emergency runs to Interstate 80, where the recovery of a crash victim’s billing costs may be a pipe dream. Commissioners to blame for Carnegie’s deterioration

DEAR EDITOR: If the Trumbull County Health Department is concerned about how the Trumbull County commissioners will maintain the Cortland 911 facility / building should they acquire it, one need only look at the front of the former Carnegie Public Library building, which now houses the Trumbull County Law Library. The commissioners should be ashamed of themselves for the intentional neglect of one of Trumbull County’s historic buildings. RANDIL J. RUDLOFF Warren

The story of a lost ring has a happy ending

DEAR EDITOR: While shopping two weeks ago at the Mejier store on state Route 46 in Niles, I caught my hand on a shopping cart and my wedding ring came off. i was heartbroken. The cashiers acted quickly and thoroughly, but to no avail. However, a holiday samaritan found my ring and turned it in to the service counter. At a time when goodness is not seen often, I want to thank the samaritan for being so good at finding my ring and notifying the store. After the store notified me, it was a real holiday miracle. Thank you to the people who helped me and the samaritan who found it. I ...

United States should resist war with Venezuela

DEAR EDITOR: The time has come again when I feel I must speak out against another potential American war, this time against Venezuela. In the latest escalation of tensions, President Trump has announced a closure of that country’s airspace. It is unclear if the American military will back up his words, but if they did, creating a no-fly zone over a sovereign nation is an act of aggression, if not an act of war. This comes after nearly three months of U.S. bombings of civilian boats in international waters off the coast of Venezuela, which is certainly illegal and possibly a war ...

Happy 25th anniversary of Fraud Awareness Week

DEAR EDITOR: The fact that the Trumbull County Recorder’s Office had a fraud invasion incident during the 25th anniversary of International Fraud Awareness Week, only further illustrates as well as corroborates the continued deficiently negligent lack of anti-fraud training, awareness, policies, and procedures to effectively prevent and deter fraud, like the egregious handling of the recent Trumbull County Auditor’s handling of the false wire transfer instruction fraud, a common scheme for many years. Pathetic doesn’t even come close in describing this situation in Trumbull, or ...

Sound off!

Recent polls show the American people think everything is getting unaffordable and they’re struggling to get by. I have a question, if things are so bad in your everyday life, how did Black Friday sales hit record highs? People need to live within their means so they can afford the everyday costs of living. And remember, prices are high now because of the 21% inflation under Joe Biden. It takes a lot longer for prices to come down once they’re up. — Hubbard Left-wing Democrats blame Trump and Republicans for the affordability problem failing to say the Biden Administration left ...
